Extras: While the Mission: Impossible 4K boxset finally does justice to the entire franchise with its AV performance, it fumbles the ball a little when it comes to bonus features. throws the UHD format's way, it passes with flying colors. The image looks gorgeous. There's no mistaking its crisp, seamless cinematic bonafides. If only the whole movie looked as good throughout as it does during the IMAX scenes, it would be one of the best looking titles available on the format.

The main problem is that the lion's share of the Blu-ray extras for the third and fourth movies appeared on bonus discs that Paramount hasn't seen fit to include in this UK boxset (although they are included with the individual 4K releases the studio put out in the US). You only get Full HD movie platters for each instalment and the extras included therein. aesthetics. The front and rear panels are glossy but not much of a fingerprint magnet, even in some of the darker corners. On the front is an image I already owned Mission: Impossible in HDX (1080p) on Vudu but I figured I would try to upgrade MI:1 to Digital 4K (UHD) on iTunes. Unfortunately, the iTunes code does not provide a Digital 4k version, even though Apple supports 4k HDR with Dolby Vision as provided on the disc. [ Update: Upon release date of the 4k Blu-ray the digital code now redeems to Digital 4k with Dolby Vision. Woohoo!] And with Cruise, already 53 at the time, delivering a whole array of jaw-dropping stunts that require him to drive, hold his breath and just hold on for dear life – in some of the most truly insane scenarios that you’ve ever seen – it’s easy to forget that this is the fifth time out for this crew, and that this is undoubtedly the best ( Fast Five coming close) fifth entry in any franchise.
