About this deal

Nose: Fruity introduction: Pineapple/citrus/green apple. A touch of oak. Underlying spices and vanilla trying to emerge. Earthy minerals. With its distinct squat bottles, Don Julio is revered by Tequila lovers for the quality of its liquid. Its reposado is aged for eight months in American white oak barrels. Flavours of desiccated coconut, cinnamon, lemon, butterscotch and vanilla lead onto a toffee apple and raisin finish. Alc 40% Nose: Cardamom, cinnamon, and vanilla tinged oak. Some clay and musty straw aromas. Hints of cedar and fruity agave. Age: Tequila reposado is most commonly rested in American and French oak barrels. Reposado must be aged for at least two months but no longer than 364 days. There are no size restrictions on the vessel in which a Reposado is aged so they can vary from traditional 220 liter whiskey barrels, to large wooden vats called pipones. The name “reposado” translates to “rested” in Spanish, reflecting the time it takes to qualify as a reposado. When I’m asked what tequila tastes like I tell them to try Fortaleza. It’s made in the most traditional way. It’s classic tequila in my opinion. This Reposado has a nice nose. I taste the agave followed by mineral brine and a complex mix of citrus and slight white pepper. The finish is short to medium with the absence of an alcohol burn (smooth). It’s a pleasant sipper. All aficionado’s should have Fortaleza in their collection.

Nestled in the red volcanic soil of the Mexican state of Jalisco are millions of blue agave plants waiting to be harvested, steam-cooked, fermented, distilled, and finally, aged in barrels. In time, the juices from these plants transform into an unmistakable spirit that's enjoyed worldwide. Fortaleza Reposado offers a nice balance of agave flavor and sweetness combined with the oaky notes from the bourbon barrel. I’m J Highland, and for over 30 years, I’ve been deeply immersed in the captivating world of Tequila, Mezcal, and other agave spirits. Moreover, the rich agave flavor that you would expect from a high-quality Tequila is present in this Añejo.

Nose: All the usual goodies. Green olives and white pepper. Dusty minerality. A hint of smoke. And of course agave dripping with sweetness. Each bottle is hand-blown by artisan glassmakers and topped with a handmade cap designed to resemble the heart of the agave plant making a good token. When it comes to Tequila, the sweet agave taste is the highlight of every sip. The balance between the subtle oaky flavor and complementary mixers and garnishes is achieved through precision and a master blender's expert palate. The flavor profile is rich in agave, with a subtle balance of vanilla and butterscotch flavors and a hint of oak spice.

Espresso and lattes: Coffee and Tequila — why not? You can mix Tequila with espresso drinks for a richer sip or with a cup of cold brew and sweet cream. An espresso martini with Tequila is a must-try! Don Cenobio was the first person to export "mezcal de tequila" to the United States with the name of "Tequila", implemented the use of steam to cook the agave instead of a pit (as mezcal is produced nowadays) and stated that Blue Agave Tequilana Webber is the best for Tequila production. My education and training include a thorough knowledge of agave spirits creation from planting agaves to bottling, including distillation. Although Añejo Tequilas are not usually my preferred choice due to the risk of losing the unique agave taste and taking on a bourbon-like flavor, Fortaleza Añejo is an exception to the rule, and it is one of the most intricate Tequilas that I have ever tasted.Nose: Oak, cinnamon dark citrus aromas, and a touch of vanilla. Light cellar note and minerals. A dusting of white pepper. Slight floral underpinning. The spirit of Mexico, Tequila is predominantly produced in the state of Jalisco on the west coast of the country. It’s made with the Blue Weber agave, a plant that takes between five and eight years to fully mature. Grilled vegetables: If you're serving up grilled veggies with your meal, don't forget to pour a glass of Tequila, too. Whether you're enjoying fajitas with grilled peppers and onions or grilled corn as a side dish, the flavors present in Tequila marry perfectly with the delicious char of grilled vegetables. Nose: Lively barrel spice entrance, embracing a crisp oak note and mellow butterscotch. Clean orange and citrus rind. Some flintiness to the aromas.
