About this deal

Forget what you think you know about fairytales as ‘Frankie Best hates Quests’ turns that on its head. Our list includes some of the world’s favourite authors, illustrators and licensed brands, such as Eric Carle, Helen Oxenbury, Nadia Shireen, The Snowman, Doctor Who, Roald Dahl, Tom Fletcher, Jeff Kinney, Rick Riordan, Robin Stevens, and Jacqueline Wilson to name but a few. The relationship between Frankie and her geeky younger brother Joel is drawn in a believable way, I believed in Frankie as being someone into YouTube and modern life and I liked the humour that peppers the text (which Anderson's illustrations really help to draw out). We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. From the incredible imagination of Chris Smith – bestselling author and now a major new solo talent – comes an extraordinary accidental adventure for fans of Cressida Cowell and Pixar’s Onward.

I couldn’t find the name of the cover artist but I think it might have also been Kenneth Anderson, going off the similarity to the internal illustrations. Then she finds a secret door in the bedroom which leads to the attic and then everything changes, Frankie doesn't like fantasy games because that is what her mum and dad produce and that was what her friends at school had picked on her about.

We’ve re-named Puffin Virtually Live so that it’s easier for new teachers to discover it as part of Puffin Schools and to acknowledge that the show now premieres on show day, rather than being streamed live. From the incredible imagination of Chris Smith - bestselling author and now a major new solo talent - comes an extraordinary accidental adventure for fans of Cressida Cowell and Pixar's Onward. Chris Smith is the author of the New York Times bestseller "The Daily Show (the Book)" and "Till The End" (with C. There's something very Terry Pratchett/Douglas Adams/Robert Asprin-esque about the sense of humour and I really appreciated that,. From the incredible imagination of Chris Smith - bestselling author and now a major new solo talent - comes an extraordinary accidental adventure for fans of Cressida Cowell and Pixar's Onward .

Even if readers hate quests as much as Frankie does, they will find the page-turning excitement on offer very hard to resist. This is unbearable news for Frankie, who is forced to accept – when Grandad is kidnapped – that she is just going to have to go on a big quest with lots of silly fantasy creatures.Frankie really doesn’t like Parallelia when she first steps into it, but her little brother Joel loves it so much!

Frankie and her nerdy younger brother, Joel, normally go and stay at their Aunty’s when their mum and dad go away but this time she’s in hospital. To have any chance of rescuing her grandfather, Frankie has to get up to speed, quickly, with all the rules and lore of the genre (luckily, Joel is usually on hand to help, in a very annoying way).

The chapters are short, there are diary entries, view points change, overall it is a light hearted adventure read and if you need to drop out of our world for a little while this is a fab one to enter. Our mission is to inspire children to feel they can be and do anything, and to create readers for life. So I hadn't heard of this author before but a few of the books I have read recently have been quite dark plus just life in general so this was perfect book coming along at the perfect time.Whilst trying to find a mobile phone signal, Frankie finds her way into the attic and stumbles across some old maps and books.
