About this deal

This track was co-written, produced and performed by Trevor Horn whose work would define the pop landscape over the next few years, whilst the song would be the first to be played on MTV in the US when it launched in 1981. The Smiths peerless 'Panic' opens, and is joined by Big Audio Dynamite, Furniture, and the landmark 'Life's What You Make It' from Talk Talk.

Chart veterans Siouxsie And The Banshees’ peerless ‘Peek-A-Boo’ is featured alongside new-comers Tanita Tikaram and Fairground Attraction who both enjoyed great success with their chart debuts ‘Good Tradition’ and ‘Perfect’, and side A closes with two gorgeous ballads; Everything But The Girl’s version of ‘I Don’t Want To Talk About It’ and ‘Martha’s Harbour’ from All About Eve.A large number of established artists also scored their biggest ever hits in 1983; Bonnie Tyler produced a global smash with ‘Total Eclipse Of The Heart’, Billy Joel’s ‘Uptown Girl’ introduced his biggest selling album in the U. LP2 opens with the breath-taking ‘Cloudbusting’ from Kate Bush, and the Indie anthem ‘How Soon Is Now? Massive tracks from Level 42 and Five Star are up next and are followed by two of the year’s biggest floor-fillers: ‘We Don’t Have To…’ from Jermaine Stewart and Lionel Richie’s international smash ‘Dancing On The Ceiling’, before closing with one of 1986’s greatest vocals from Whitney Houston on her defining cover of ‘Greatest Love Of All’. If you missed out, the good news is that the vinyl is now available again as a 3LP black vinyl edition and the 4CD set is also back in deluxe hardcover book edition.

Some of the most enduring tracks include Toto’s ‘Africa’, UB40’s ‘Red Red Wine’ and Luther Vandross’s ‘Never Too Much’. The first two NOW Yearbooks – ’83 and ’84 – sold out rather quickly back in 2021, especially the limited vinyl and deluxe hardcover book editions. For ‘Yearbook’ collectors and vinyl fans – 75 amazing Pop memories showcasing the magic and diversity of the era. NOW – Yearbook 1979 – A celebration of the diversity of the charts, and the creative brilliance of the year in pop. EX (Excellent): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. M (Mint): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
