About this deal

I'm willing to put up with the discomfort because of the sheer quality I get from these headphones. They're amazing for obviously being designed to be linked to mobile devices (phone, tablet, laptop, etc) they sound great over Bluetooth. The battery life in one word is wonderful, with a battery life of 30 hours, 450SE get the chance to sit on the same table, with the “Big Dogs”, matching the stamina of the industry-leading ANC over ear headphones, the WH1000X M4. But, as you’d expect from Sennheiser, the signature sound quality provided by these wireless headphones is superb. (And there is the option to plug them in too.)

Head size/head band comfort - I have a big head, need large/custom hats, and I find these to be perfectly comfortable, and don't put too much pressure on my head. The padding is doing its job! So far after two full days of wear, I haven't had any pain and the weight is great for long days of work. I also like that the ear cups tilt in both directions - human heads are not flat! Great sound quality, even over bluetooth. I'm not an audiophile but I am a big fan of the Sennheiser sound quality. No fuss music quality. Unfortunately, there is no transparency mode on the HD 450SE, which when paired with the naturally strong noise isolation of over-ear headphones makes these slightly inconvenient for being able to hear someone calling for you, like what happened much to the frustration of my partner who spent five minutes shouting for me to come through to the living room. Sennheiser HD 450SE: App The build of the new cans isn't as sturdy or premium as the Momentum 3 Wireless headphones, and the plastic construction can feel a bit flimsy at times.

Is the Sennheiser HD 450BT noise canceling good?

Sennheiser claims up to 30 hours of battery life, and I’m going to be honest, I’ve not had them run out of battery on me. I just pop them into a USBc I have around the house and they are topped up again in no time at all. You won’t be disappointed by the battery life here that’s for sure. Conclusion Active noise cancellation is becoming a thing day by day and now most wireless headphones are noise canceling headphones. It is a killer feature that really reduces the ambient noise while providing the best audio quality possible. Battery status can be viewed on the Sennheiser Smart Control App, which is also the gateway to performing firmware updates and adjusting EQ.

Sound: Compared to it's competitors (Sony, Soundcore), it has a neutral sound signature, with a mild bass boost. Not recommended for those who want thumping bass, but for everyone else it's a pleasant sound. Sound quality is brilliant as expected from Sennheiser, as long as you're using the higher quality Bluetooth codecs (Aptx for Android and AAC for Apple/Windows). Pro tip - Use the app "Wavelet" if you have an Android phone, you can use the AutoEQ feature to smoothen out the sound even more! That is mostly the case with performance, too, the HD 450BTs producing a smooth, rich balance that’s enjoyable, not to mention easy to listen to. Whether you’re listening to Frahm’s virtuosic piano playing or satisfying some electro funk impulse, their full-bodied and rounded, yet still plenty lively, delivery will amiably present warm piano keys and sizzling synths alike. With a 30-hour battery life, these headphones are among the best in terms of stamina, matching Sony’s market-leading ANC over-ears, the WH1000X M4.Price: The SE model (which I have) is great value for money; a newer model in a cheaper price. The regular 450BT seems slightly overpriced, as it's older, yet more expensive.

As I mentioned earlier, it has a virtual assistant button for Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant to make things easier for you. Besides that, for simple usage, there’s also the Sennheiser smart control App that provides an equalizer, podcast mode, and firmware updates. As many others have said, they are not the most comfortable headphones. Quite snug fit. The headphones I'd say are pretty good quality, but I would have liked a different material for the headband (rubber) for the amount of money you pay for them. I do like the smooh plastic feel on the outside but am a little worried about the rubber wearing out over time - problems with peeling rubber. Bluetooth is complete with aptX Low Latency support for syncing up audio and video (with less than 40 milliseconds of latency) when you’re watching a video or playing a game on your connected device.

The Sennheiser HD 450BTs aren’t the best sounding noise-cancelling headphones out there for the money. Nor are they the easiest to control on your head. In a previous life as a working club and radio DJ, I regularly used the company's pro headphones as my weapon of choice. It has also entered the more competitive mid-priced earphones segment too. You can read my review of its CX True Wireless here. The HD 450SE’s are built really well. Everything is night an tight with not creak or squeaks to be heard when opening / closing / adjusting them. I can imagine these lasting a long time going by the build quality I’ve experienced.

In recent years I've watched Sennheiser win universal acclaim for their in-ear wireless headphones such as Momentum which are regarded as one of the best true wireless earbuds on the market. These headphones are great, if you're worried about them being too small, you'll get used to it. Not a great thing to say about a pair of headphones that certainly aren't cheap persay. They're okay on comfort, but you'll find yourself adjusting the earcups regularly to prevent fatigue on your ears. Sometimes I even have to take them off completely for a bit while my ears readjust. Sennheiser promises 30-hour battery life for the HD 450SE, which I hit in my own testing (give or take 20 minutes depending on how loud I had them). Charging is nice and fast too, with the ability to juice them to 80% in around 30 minutes, and fill them up to 100% in just under an hour. Bluetooth 5.0 - great connection. I can walk out of my room, to the next room and still have great music quality. I'm a big fan of the dual connection option - you can connect 2 devices on the headphones. I can watch something on my computer then answer a call on my phone with little fuss.
