In September this year, Ian Macleod Distillers revived Jamaican rum brand Langs with the launch of a banana-flavoured expression in the UK. The brand’s first line extensions, Langs Mango and Ginger Rum and Langs Pineapple Rum, are both bottled at 37.5% ABV. First, fill your shaker about three-fourths full of ice cubes. Then pour in your banana rum, fruit juices and grenadine. The pineapple-flavoured bottling is said to have hints of coconut, caramel and lime, and a nose of pineapple, coconut, and raisin ice cream. The palate delivers pineapple, caramel and cinnamon, followed by a finish of fruits and spiced oak. It is suggested to be consumed neat, over ice, or mixed with cranberry juice.

Langs Banana Rum Details

The Lang Brothers brand joined Ian Macleod Distillers’ portfolio in 2003 as part of the firm’s acquisition of Highland whisky distillery Glengoyne from Macallan owner Edrington. According to Ian Macleod, Langs Rum was no longer being sold by Edrington by that point.
