About this deal

How can you possibly look at them all? And if you can’t, how do you know you’re getting the best choice for your needs? You want auto-stop when you remove them: This isn't here. It won't matter for everyone, but not having it may be a dealbreaker for some. That said, the charging case has more than enough capacity. It has enough charge for an additional 175 hours for a total of 180 hours. Even at top volume, you’re looking at an insane 150 hours of listening time. Charging Case: SoundPEATS knows the importance of staying connected, and the charging case for the Air4 Earbuds ensures you’re never without your tunes. Compact yet robust, this charging case provides ample juice for multiple recharges, with an LED indicator that keeps you in the know. It’s like a cozy little home for your earbuds, giving them the energy to serenade you all day long. You don't have an iPhone: If you're an Android user, you'll miss out on features if you get these compared to other earbuds that have app control on Android.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Bluetooth driver, or update the Bluetooth driver. All can be done in Manage >>> Device Manager, reset earbuds (if available), and then repeat the step. It's the same story for the sound quality, which we described as "one of the most expansive, three-dimensional and fun soundstages I've heard from a set of earbuds", also noting that "we get an extra ounce of detail and texture through the high end, too, compared to the competition". More expensive earbuds manage to provide even more detail (and there's no support for CD-quality sound here through aptX or Sony's LDAC wireless systems), but you have to spend twice as much to get even a bit better, really. In our opinion, the best pairs are most definitely worth it. You get a clear step up as far as sound quality goes with more detail uncovered, even greater dynamics and a more overall polished performance. Many budget models don't have the same spread of features as more expensive designs and might be missing key things like active noise-cancelling. What are the best earbuds for Zoom meetings? After testing the ANC, I moved on to listening to music. Since I had experienced some oddities with getting the earbuds setup, I was surprised that the overall sound quality was very good. I would say that they provide ‘above average’ quality when it comes to sound output. I could hear nuances in music that I don’t always hear without headphones like this. Interestingly, the noise-canceling feature had a tangible impact on the bass frequencies. It fortified the bass presence, imbuing it with an extra punch while still maintaining a commendable level of tightness and control. This was in stark contrast to the out-of-the-box bass response, which initially presented itself as somewhat bloated. Activating the noise-canceling mode rectified this, providing a more refined and balanced bass presentation.Calls sound clear, and the battery life is seven hours from the buds and a further 28 hours from the charging case. Amazingly it all feels fairly premium too. The Bluetooth 5.0 connection is solid and stable and for the money, the wireless earbuds offer an energetic and spacious sound. You want active noise cancellation: For the same kind of price, the Earfun Air Pro 3 at #4 on the list have this feature.

The U-AIR4 earbuds come with a water-resistance rating of IPX8. This is the highest rating available, but it’s hard to say what it means because it involves custom testing. What we can say for sure is that it exceeds IPX7 performance. This means it can be submerged at a depth of 1 meter for a minimum of 30 minutes. In other words, you could technically take it swimming. Sony's excellent wireless earbuds slot neatly between the budget WF-C500 (no ANC) and premium WF-1000XM5.

Fit and Comfort

So although you won't get exceptional sound with the JLab Go Air Pop, or noise cancelling or other high-end feeatures, during our testing we were surprised to find reliable Bluetooth connectivity, killer battery life, comfortable and light earpieces and solid music on the go. It would be churlish to expect more. Tied to this, of course, are other factors such as battery life. The best wireless earphones all have enough battery life for the average listening session but some do last longer than others. Most pairs will have a combined earbud and case battery life of 18 hours or more, though, so you shouldn't be caught out during long-haul flights, though some people might care for a higher earbud battery life for continuous listening without having to pop them into the case to charge.

As you can see, the Lankey U-AIR4 Wireless Earbuds are very well designed. For one thing, we absolutely loved the ergonomics. Between the ear tips and the fins, you’ll get a fit that’s both secure and comfortable. We also liked the fact that you can use the charging case as a power bank. You need the best noise cancellation: Again, they don't do this badly at all, but the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds at #8 on the list clearly do it better. The Ultra provide a comfortable fit and lots of features. Bluetooth 5.3 is a big bonus, while they are also Bose's first in-ears to offer its very own spatial audio tech, Immersive Audio. The soundstage is what you’d expect, or would you? I hear a decently wide psycho-acoustically rendered stage. The stage size is average in height and there’s actually some decent depth to the sound. I’d say the stage is well laid out actually. You have to think, the sound is certainly more airy and open sounding. There isn’t anything congested or veiled at all. The sound is pretty dynamically expressive with decent macro-dynamics. You won’t hear a concert hall or anything, but the stage is in front of the listener with a nice half-circle all around me. Again, there is nice depth which I wasn’t expecting at all. The stage is pretty good, and I don’t think it’ll let anyone down. The only time the stage shrinks a bit is with ANC toggled “on”. Everything gets a hint more congested, not veiled either, just more intimate or warm. Separation / Imaging
