About this deal

The iconic image of Warminster's UFO activity is a photograph, taken by Gordon Faulkner in 1965. It shows a typical 'flying saucer', which is so enlarged that the grain of the film emulsion is clearly visible. Jeremy, David (2004). "Wansey, Henry (1751–1827), woollen manufacturer and traveller". Shuttlewood, it seems took a sabbatical from writing books for a number of years, but still took an active part in sky-watches and the local UFO scene.

Having lived in warminster as a child in the 1960s. Between the 60s and the late 70s I have seen five.I moved away in the 1980s and returned to the town in the late 90s and havent seen a thing yet I live very close to cley hill.I still suspect army or airforce activity for the sightings both then and now.But still a facinating subject.

He then saw a circular translucent craft with a "girder" at the front and three pointing to the rear. The "girders" rearranged to form a cross shape around the central 25ft-diameter disc and then began to spin. Twenty-two minutes later, the "girders" returned to their original position and the craft sped off in a northeast direction. Methodists built a chapel on George Street, west of the town centre, in 1804; it was rebuilt in 1861. [14] The congregation amalgamated with the United Reformed Church in 1983 to form the United Church. [15] A predecessor of the URC opened a chapel at Common Close in 1720, which by 1829 had a congregation of 900, leading to the chapel being rebuilt for a second time in 1839; [16] notable ministers included Daniel Fisher (1752 to 1771) [17] and Geoffrey Nuttall (1938 to 1943). [18] Numbers fell in the 20th century, and after the 1983 amalgamation the chapel was demolished in 1987. [16] St. Giles Garrison Church, Warminster". Wiltshire Community History. Wiltshire Council . Retrieved 30 October 2020. Mulholland’s music hazes the contours between psychogeography and hauntology, exploring his reaction to memory and place, both physically through field recording and figuratively, through his often abrasive manipulation of the sounds. Accordingly, his work can be as witty and expressive as it is caustic, but each one reveals something different and quite personal about the artist." As the town's population grew in the 19th century, two more churches were built: Christ Church in 1831 to serve the south of the town, and St John's in 1865 in the southeast. [9] All three churches are listed, St Denys' and St John's churches are Grade II* and Christ Church is Grade II. [10] [11] [12] Town chapel [ edit ]
