About this deal

Beluga is the gold standard of luxury Russian vodka, distilled in the heart of Siberia with impeccable smoothness and purity. After multiple distillations, charcoal filters it four times to strip off impurities and craft a clean, crisp, smooth vodka. We have concerns about potential links between the beneficial owner of this product and Vladimir Putin and his war on Ukraine. As part of our research, we have reached out to the beneficial owner to clarify their position, and have yet to receive a response. The final product is a bit sweet and has rich flavor notes of orange peel, white pepper, vanilla, wheat, and rye. The Russian vodka is made from wheat and rye (premium Russian ingredients) that undergoes five rounds of the distillation process.

Beluga Noble Russian Vodka (1.5L) | Master of Malt

Russian standard Imperia is a premium vodka made using the most advanced distillation process and quartz crystal filtration. Why We Like It: Jewel of Russia vodka may not have a high price tag, unlike its other flavored options, but the classic vodka is a superior product you can enjoy because of its excellent taste. Few words are pre-loaded with luxury the way beluga is. Trump is another, but there was already a vodka with that name on the market (now defunct). Unlike other vodkas, thanks to their smoothness, you can drink Stoli without harshness. 1. Beluga Noble Russian Vodka Beluga hails from Russia, but beyond this there’s plenty about its production that remains rather mysterious. It is distilled from grain in Western Siberian distillery founded in 1900, filtered through quartz sand and silver, and cut with water from a Siberian spring. The company says it is distinguished “by using a preciously calibrated distillation ritual, which gives its vodka a pure enrichment of high quality taste.” Also of note: It’s a straight vodka, but it includes a few additives, apparently in small proportions, including honey, oat extract, and Silybum marianum extract (you know it as the milk thistle). More on that later.

The addition of minute quantities of special ingredients is consistent with what I know of traditional European production methods where each distilled vodka has its own recipe and its own special ingredients. It is these special ingredients used in very small proportions which contribute to the individual character of each Vodka. (By small quantities I really do mean small; typically these extra ingredients are measured in parts per million.) The palate has a good structure, is warm, well balanced in the game between spicy, peppery tones and an underlying freshness, which keeps the taste always interesting. Overall it is dry, smooth, but the addition of honey makes it very soft and easy to drink.

The grains used to make Husky vodka are locally grown in Siberia, and it is distilled five times and then filtered to remove the impurities from the final product. 4. Polugar Classic Rye Vodka

Stoli is made from Russian wheat and rye and boasts a smooth, clean flavor profile with distinct notes of citrus at the end. In May 2016, Beluga partnered with Summergate Fine Wine & Spirits to be the exclusive importer and distributor of the brand in Greater China. We enjoyed the neat vodka; it is one of the best creamy, smooth, and spotless vodkas we have ever had. 8. Mamont Siberian Vodka Yes, Russian vodka is strong. The average ABV of Russian vodkas is around 40% which is enough to get you drunk, especially when consumed faster. Final Say

Beyond this, the vodka is fairly simple, with not a lot of additional characteristics to be discovered. That isn’t altogether a bad thing, as vodka is supposed to be “neutral”— but if your tastes err toward the sweeter side of life, and you have a bit of money to burn, Beluga Noble is worth a shot. (Note: Do not confuse this with Beluga Gold Vodka, an even more upscale bottling, not reviewed here.) What makes Russian brands better is they use old-fashioned production processes and rich ingredients that improve the quality of the spirit. Hamish Smith (January 5, 2023).
