About this deal

i loooved reading about the backstory, seeing the creator’s thoughts and struggles, the first deckers as well as glimpses of the lives of bystanders or workers for death cast. The original was much better, the writing was better and the storyline itself, i cried every page at the original. I will never get over this series and I will fight anyone who has anything bad to say about this or TBDATE. Adam Silvera uses his ample skill to force readers to examine how they live life now and how they want to live it. Silvera crafts a stunning and thought-provoking narrative that examines difficult existential questions without eschewing hope.

The story goes through several twists and turns and remains clever and surprising despite the title literally saying exactly what’s going to happen. Orion Pagan has waited years for someone to tell him that he's going to die, given his serious heart condition. I was so happy getting a few glimpses of Rufus and Mateo, and all the cute moments between ValentinOrion. I thought it will just stop in two chapters but it never did :/ i wouldn't have lost my time reading about rolando, gloria etc had i known they take like a hundred pages from the book. infact i would not have read this had people given their true opinion on it/how it's actually different than the original. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. In addition to Orion and Valentino, you get the friend, a guy who works at Death-Cast, his coworkers, the sister, the… landlord, and way more for some reason. Silvera not only poignantly captures the raw emotion of facing your own morality, but creates such relatable and authentic characters you want to follow on their journey.

It's a whopper at 550 pages long, but having said that chapters are very short and it's a surprisingly quick read. I'm not sure why it took me so long to read this book from Adam Silvera, given I enjoyed a few of his other ones. I know not everyone is crazy about the inclusion of these types of tiny slivers of life, but I loved them and the way it demonstrated the interconnections in general. It takes what we would expect from this universe and expands on it in a way that’s unique, while still keeping the core beauty of the first book’s message intact. There are several POVs but the main two are Orion, a New Yorker living with a severe heart condition, wondering everyday if it will be his last. Why do we need to hear from the perspective of the random old dude clint, of gloria, rolando or frankie? Set at the start of Death-Cast this story follows Orion and Valentino who meet at the Death-Cast launch party - a day which will change both of their lives forever, unfortunately only one of them get out of the story with a forever. They Both Die at the E nd is a prime example of his skill at asking the most relevant questions of all of us. It’s the night before Death-Cast goes live, and there’s one question on everyone’s mind: Can Death-Cast actually predict when someone will die, or is it just an elaborate hoax?
