About this deal

For long term doctor who comic strip collectors this first volume of dalek tales may seem a bit superfluous. This is where you will find any My Little Pony, Monster High, Barbie or Polly Pocket items that we may have in from time to time. Pitiless war machines committed to universal conquest, the Daleks have terrified and enthralled Doctor Who fans for generations, on screen, in books, and in comics – and now, Panini Comics, publishers of Doctor Who Magazine, are to release not one but two collections of strips featured in the long-running publication.

Commentary section featuring behind the scenes secrets from the comic creators, sketches and previously unseen artwork! Very good read if you are a fan of Daleks, sure Doctor Who turns up here and there but it's mostly Daleks.Alongside these stories, the second volume is expected to include “Bringer of Darkness” ( Doctor Who Magazine Summer Special 1993); “Emperor of the Daleks” ( DWM Issues 197 – 202); “Fire and Brimstone” ( DWM Issues 251 – 255); and “Children of the Revolution” ( DWM Issues 312 – 317). Volume 2 is highly recommended to anyone who purchased the first volume, and anyone purchasing this volume will want to purchase the first volume. The Second Doctor and his companions Jamie and Victoria encounter a crashed Dalek spaceship, and a squad of Daleks who will stop at nothing to contact their fleet.

It’s not the adaptation but an original strip printed in the magazine for a Peter cushing special issue. Berserker warrior Abslom Daak becomes a legend as he sets out to destroy every last stinking Dalek in the galaxy. I seem to remember there was a court case raised by the copyright holders (previously souvenir press) when the beeb published the dalek handbook… so probably not on the best terms for the 60s annuals. Other potential material is the dalek one page strips that continued the 60’s dalek strip and the latest cushing strip but I’m not sure if they will be included.

It was fantastic to see the Peter Cushing portrayal of Doctor Who presented in this collection, along with the tale from Victoria Waterfield's journal.

I don’t believe Who is such a nice market, the worlds full of niche markets anyway, that’s my point there is so much competition for my time these days as well as my money.
