Oud Wood Platinum would be a better name for this fragrance. This is only Oud Wood Intense when smelled from the bottle. On skin this is a refined, muskier, lightly metallic, and more floral Oud Wood.
Richard Herpin created a Hall of Fame fragrance in Oud Wood. I will always have a bottle of it in my collection and even though I have tons of fragrances, I still wear it all the time. Overall I don't really like this fragrance but it's extremely potent and beast mode I just really cannot imagine me pulling this off and wearing it instead of it wearing me, but if you think you are capable of doing it I can see it being beautiful. I love this fragrance and that industrial, plastic, chemical smell that gives the fragrance a unique flair.
The Oud Revolution
Today I finally got a sample and wore it on skin. And oh my lord what a beautiful fragrance this is.
It has oud, great woodsy notes, cardomom, but it's more spicy and intense, and leans more masculine.It’s dark, spicy woody and smells like plastic, or some type of chemical smell. However I say this in the best way possible, Make sure you apply it on a clean skin after shower and not while running sweaty sniffing testers in a perfume store. Right now i can still smell what i had applied 16 hours ago, 2022 batch if you must know. OWI has a very heavy and dark opening. almost like a heavy leather or an electrical fire on my skin. For the first 2 hours I get a very dark, heavy and intense scent. Not for the faint of heart. I see this scaring off many people. If you like clean / fresh / lighter scents, you are probable not going to like this one, but I absolutely loved it this phase. After a few hours OWI moves into what I am calling dry down deliciousness! Castorium and Oud in a sexy dance inside a dark club filled with smoke and plush leather furniture. There are so many more interesting and incredibly long lasting perfumes with oud accords out there that are a fraction of the price. I mean it’s so simply ridiculous.
