About this deal

You may not want to wear your best pair of walking shoes on the beach as they are bound to get sand in them. Walk Barefoot for Short Distances

Debbie Macomber is one of those authors who writes books that you know you are going to love before you even start reading. She always has wonderful, real characters to connect with and a plot that will keep you reading. Her books have a few laughs and a few tears; a little romance and a lot of positive changes in the characters. A Walk Along the Beach is way more than the simple romances that she used to write - this one definitely fits in the Women's/Family Fiction category. I didn't feel for the characters which, for me, is most important in a story like this. The love story didn't move me. The sisters had more of a mother/ daughter relationship which just doesn't work Total physical and mental inertia are highly agreeable, much more so than we allow ourselves to imagine. A beach not only permits such inertia but enforces it, thus neatly eliminating all problems of guilt. It is now the only place in our overly active world that does.”Yes, this is something that I shall be watching for ever more closely after a recent accident with Gladys. Around so much of our coastline the fishermen like to get out and spend their time, especially at high tide, fishing in the tide. Ever since I can remember I have been curious—asking questions, trying to figure out life’s meaning—all in an effort to live fully and get it right. My career began as a stringer reporter for the Gannett newspaper chain. As I practiced the craft of writing, I moved on to photo essays books for children, then the breakthrough book, Breaking the TV Habit, and finally into the genre of memoir. The latter happened quite by accident after I ran away from home, lived a year by the sea on my own, and realized that there was something in this experience worth writing about. So many women I knew wanted or needed to stop the craziness of their lives but had not the will or the ability to do so. By writing my story it has given hundreds of thousands of women the excuse to take themselves away, have their turn, and see who they are beyond the roles that they play.

It’s impossible to walk on the beach without making an imprint in the sand and taking some of it with us. Life is very much the same. If we noticed this we might be more aware of our actions and words.” This book is very special and contains many wonderful insights from both Joan Anderson and Joan Erikson. Growing old can seem very scary, but this book emphasizes that each part of our lifespan is precious and can endow us with unique strengths if we are willing to seek them out. I appreciated Joan Erikson’s lessons about getting out of our minds and into our bodies. She believed that action allows you to truly experience the world rather than just observing it or letting it pass you by. However, that is not to say that we should not be careful and I have learnt recently first hand that we should be more wary of things to watch out for and how we can enjoy dog walks on the beach without injury to the dog. So, what is dangerous to the dogs on the beach? Fish Hooks In Brighton, the council says: "The seafront should just be used for essential exercise by people living nearby, not for meeting friends or sunbathing, and not for swimming in the sea."Walking for exercise boasts a number of health benefits including decreased mortality, reduced risk of heart disease, and weight loss. Tips for a Better Beach Walk There aren’t many things that compare to a walk on the beach. The magical experience starts when you take off your shoes and step onto the sand. From that moment on, it’s only you and the beach. You feel the fresh, gentle sea breeze against your skin, you hear the spontaneous laughter of happy people playing in the sun, and you feel the tremble of the powerful waves crashing on the shore. I usually love Macomber-her stories just help me to escape to another place where everything works out all right. I just couldn't warm to the main character in this one-Willa. She's had a lot of tragedy in her life which I sympathized with but the insta-love that hero Sean has for her is never really cemented for me. The central storyline was hard to read but that's okay. I'm just not sure if I could understand either of the reactions to it-the hero's or the heroine's. I don't want to say more for fear of spoiling the story. Others have loved it so it must just be me. You start to reflect on your life journey, the meaning of life, and your destiny. It feels as if that very moment connects you to a higher power, and you realize that the ocean and the waves are waiting to wash away all the troubles in your mind. After their mother's death and their father deep grief, Willa Lakey was left to raise not only herself but her younger siblings, Harper and Lucas. Then her sister Harper was diagnosed with Cancer and once again, Willa put her life on hold to nurse her sister through it. Now Willa runs a successful bakery/coffee shop and life is beginning to show promise. She has a customer who has turned her eye, and her business is growing strong.
