I couldn't put the book down! I was always into true crime stories and criminal profiling and this book made me love criminology even more! The story of Richard Munoz Ramirez aka The Night Stalker is captivating yet frightening! The story begins with childhood happenings. Richard witnessed gruesome pictures of rapings and killings that his cousin showed to him (his cousin Mike was in Vietnam raping and killing women during wars) and also killed his wife Jessie in front of him (he was 10 years old) and his two kids 5 and 7 years old. Richie as a kid had sustained two head traumas that caused him frontal lobe epilepsy which grew out of it when he was a teenager, witnessed domestic violence and abuse (his dad although a great man, was a hot tempered mexican who beated his kids as punishment and also traumatised his own self in front of them by beating his head with a hammer until blood was covering his face), his teacher was a pedophile, he was taught by his cousin how to kill - how to remain unseen in darkness - how to break into houses etc, he was exposed to drugs (cokaine, heroine, pot, angel dust, lsd - halluciogens) and he became a satanist. He was condemned to death row as he killed 13 women and men and raped some women. The killings were gruesome and horrific and the rapings were brutal and vicious. Is he really born to kill or are all these happenings really triggered this kind of behavior??a b Buchanan, Paul (May 15, 2017).
