When it’s time to head home to the auto-empty station, slow and steady was the name of the game for the G40 Hybrid+ since it relies heavily on infrared sensors and an outdated algorithm, rather than the more advanced LiDAR scanner technology and smart mapping. This puts the G40 Hybrid at a disadvantage. Using this robot to clean an entire house will likely require a bit of human dependence, especially for large homes with intricate spaces or complex layouts. The G40 Hybrid will spend a lot of its time repositioning itself. Wrapping Up Self-Emptying— If you don't want to deal with dumping out the dusty, dirty contents of your robot vac on a daily or weekly basis, consider a model with a self-emptying base. After it cleans your floors, it'll return to the base and automatically empty the crud there. Then, you just have to empty the base once every 60 days, give or take. And with the three to six– month battery life—all dependant on how often it’s used—you don’t have to worry about hands-on maintenance very often. The other problem is that the spot cleaning mode isn’t quite as logical as it ought to be. The icon on the button that controls the process looks like it should start in the middle and work its way out, cleaning in an increasing spiral shape. However, in my experience, the centre of the cleaning area appeared to move as the RoboVac’s arcs got wider, sometimes moving away from the area I wanted cleaned. Maintenance and Convenience Features: Its comprehensive accessory kit, along with the auto-empty base, makes maintenance a breeze.
