One of the most noticeable changes in comparison with the original Fireface UCX is the new front panel, which for the UCX II has been updated to reflect that of other next-generation RME devices (such as the Fireface UFX+ and RME 12Mic), and allows full and immediate access to all features of the interface. All of which can even be controlled wirelessly using TotalMix Remote, a free companion app for TotalMix that allows for network-control over any RME interface or sound card. But when you have just installed the company's driver, you will need to restart the machine, for TotalMix FX to be turned on. It looks harder to use on the inside than it looks on the outside. This feature set is most suited for home and project studios, where the use of 1-4 simultaneous inputs is the norm but gives ample scope for adding parts later on. This may include connecting boutique external preamps via the dedicated line inputs or adding further ins/outs using the ADAT ports (an optical cable is included in the box to get you started along this path). The specially developed, internal hi-performance switch mode power supply lets the 802 operate in the range of 100V to 240V AC, thus can be operated all over the world. It is short-circuit proof, has an integrated line-filter, is fully regulated against voltage fluctuations, and suppresses mains interference. Stand Alone Operation with Setup Recall

The RME ARC USB is a USB 1.1 MIDI remote control - thanks to operating as a UAC 1 class device, it is natively compatible to Windows and Mac OS X. As soon as it is present in the operating system, TotalMix FX will automatically detect the ARC USB, and communicate with it via simple MIDI remote commands to control the UCX II. The Fireface UCX also featured the new DSP-powered FX section of TotalMix FX, offering enhanced latency-free monitoring and unlimited submix routing, and was in essence designed to offer a more compact and lower channel-count version of the RME Fireface UFX (the RME Audio flagship interface at the time). Each channel can be individually switched to 48V phantom power or instrument mode. LEDs for signal, clip, TS operation and activated phantom power provide overview on the unit's status.While 99% of UK locations are valid for next day/Saturday delivery, there are a few remote locations which are not covered.
