About this deal

Making homemade cheese crisps is easy! Scroll down to the recipe card for detailed instructions. Here are the basic steps: REAL Handcooked crisps are batch cooked, taking 3 times longer than a standard conventional crisp and are stirred by hand to prevent clumping and to ensure every crisp is evenly cooked. They are easy to make (watch the video to see how easy), very tasty, and the addition of jalapeños adds just enough heat to make them interesting. They also look great! Agreed. Definitely gone downhill over the last few years. Their salt and vinegar used to be proper tangy. Now it’s like a bag of greasy farts. So here’s what I do (nowadays). I tell my brain to chill out and just make something I knew most people would enjoy and is pretty healthy. But more importantly, AMAZINGLY delicious and gluten free. Because if they don’t eat it, we will take it home and devour the rest, ya know? Potatoes, Sunflower Oil, Jalapeno Pepper Flavour (Rice Flour, Sea Salt, Yeast Extract Powder, Sugar, Onion Powder, Chilli Powder, Tomato Powder, Jalapeno Chilli Powder, Natural Flavouring, Garlic Powder, Spice Extract, Turmeric Extract, Colour: Paprika Extract). Space Raiders. Look like monster munch, taste like the cardboard box that the monster munch happened to be delivered in. But here’s my problem. I think too much about these situations. You see, I love making game day foods and appetizers, but I’m also a people pleaser. Ugh, the death of me. Should I bring a healthy appetizer? Oh but maybe someone eats low carb and grain free? Wait, I can’t eat anything with gluten (not to mention high in lactose), but I know someone will want cheesy comfort food. Or maybe paleoish and not as spicy, etc? Come on, you know you’ve been in that same situation! The trying to please everyone but totally failing situation.

So ..seeing y’all are that couple “who will …host football watching parties just to (share) good food” I’m hopping a plan and coming over as I am THAT GAL THAT attends football watching parties just to EAT ALL the good food”! 🙂 Once they are done baking, you simply wrap them around a natural cheese slice, place on baking tray with parchment paper, and bake again. Less than 10 minutes! Golden Wonder – Regular crisps, the Ringos are not too bad if you like something a bit different. Very flavoursome.

Tyrrells ‘Naked’ (Maybe discontinued? Missed seeing them about, a perfect crisp that showed just how awesome an unadulterated potato can be) one ounce naturally aged cheese slices. (parmesan works best, but swiss, provolone, havarti all work too. See notes for the cooking times. Space Invaders. Spicy tomato, and not beefy. These are really in here as a default, as Tangy Toms seem to have vanished off.

And finally, you totally forget about football. Yes, this Texas girl rarely watches it. In fact, if you came to our house on a Sunday, you’d probably see swimming, rugby, or cycling on TV. Deviled eggs are always nice. A meat and cheese platter is great. But when you want some crunch, nothing beats these tasty cheese crisps (well, bacon chips are excellent too!). I do like to add jalapeno slices. They add a nice flavor and they look good! So that's the second ingredient you'll need, but it's certainly not mandatory. Instructions The key to making these chips extra crispy is to bake your jalapenos slices first. Leave the seeds in if you want them SPICY or cut the seeds out if you want them less spicy. Coast with a little onion salt, oil, and pepper. Your next step is to arrange mounds of the cheese on a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet. Gently flatten them.Whilst the blue sachet added an element of DIY class A narcotic (a bit like Breaking Bad of the 80’s), the lumps of salt where just too large and wouldn’t adhere to the crisp.
