About this deal
Following this the Amarula team works with the local communities to maximise the uses of the fruit and by-products, and crucially, helps guarantee the same amount of fruit is produced in the following year’s harvest.
The news follows the company releasing a vegan variant of its cream liqueur named Amarula Vegan that tapped into the trend for non-dairy and plant-based preferences for drinks. The Southern Liqueur Company of South Africa had been distilling the fruit into a clear spirit since 1983. In recent years it has expanded its footprint to include chocolate, raspberry, and vegan variations.
Australia offers something for everyone - from surfing and exploring cities to enjoying gourmet food.
So, by bringing in flavours – we ventured into Amarilla Vanilla Spice in 2018 and then followed that by rose, chocolate and Baobab – what we saw was that we started to talk to new consumers that we hadn’t talked to before and sometimes actually for different drinking occasions and for lots of different reasons. Below are those cocktails and whilst you get to sipping, I’m going to get to googling to see if elephants have teeth. Strain the mix whilst hot then stir in 3 teaspoons of citric acid (or 100ml of lime juice) and 100ml of fresh orange juice. Five years later in 1994, the liqueur made its way overseas and graced our shelves with its creamy goodness!
