However more can be done to ensure that they develop into larger businesses which are based in the UK and offer economic benefits such as sustainable, long-term jobs and export opportunities. By taking a holistic approach, the UK is aiming at ensuring a convergence between universities and start-ups to strengthen the already existing connection. The UK will also require a significant increase of the private sector investments into space activities, coupled with combined efforts of every participant in the UK space economy, from businesses to innovators, entrepreneurs, and space scientists. For future opportunities, keep an eye on CIVITAS, the network of cities for cities dedicated to cleaner, better transport in Europe and beyond. Ms. Heather Britton in her presentation highlighted the 3 core strategic lines for the UKSA action: In recent years, Europe faced the consequences of several natural hazards, resulting in human and economic losses. For example, since it was first officially detected in Europe near Gallipoli in 2013, Xylella fastidiosa has spread throughout the Apulia region, causing over a billion euros of damage to the regional agriculture and industry. If its full spread is not contained, this bacterium could cost billions to the European Union in the coming years.Broaddus VC, et al., eds. Pleural effusion. One of the oldest applications of geospatial data is to inform Armed Forces to rapidly react in the case of disasters. Such a service is delivered since 1889 by the Hellenic Army Geographical Corps (HAGS), the oldest gre referenced service of the country. Panagiotis Fragkosis , Major of the Hellenic Army Geographical Corps illustrated the three main phases of disaster risk management cycle supported by their services:
Eurisy is a Paris based, non-profit association gathering space agencies, international organisations, research institutions, and private businesses involved or interested in space-related activities across Europe. If excess fluid builds up between the pleural layers, it may be necessary to drain the fluid to prevent breathing difficulties. What can space data contribute to prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery? The answer to this question comes from the multiple national examples that have been developed by Greek SMEs, research centres and public institutions. The most common symptom of pleurisy is a sharpchest pain when breathing deeply. Sometimes the pain is also felt in the shoulder.
