About this deal
Colin has been blinded and Grace is sure he will reject her in the belief that she is motivated by pity, hence her determination to do something irreversible like sleep with him. Lorelai's first vision of Grayson's death is more than a little distressing but the lasting vision from Grayson's kiss is beautiful and heartwarming.
Thankfully, things are straightened out in part three, as Colin finally tells Grace about his reasons for not writing to her and for proposing to Lily; everything is straightened out and yes, Colin makes up for his previous mistake and proceeds to show Grace exactly what all the fuss is about. In her heart of hearts, she thought Sir Griffin’s eldest son was the most handsome boy in all England. It was because you are a young lady who doesn’t even sleep in the nursery any longer, her mother said, giving her a kiss. What broke my heart is that Grace — an ordinary-looking wallflower — is almost always overshadowed by her vibrant, stunning younger sister, Lily. Maybe I was not on a good day, I have those as imagine does everyone, and I needed it to have ended in a more upward tone.Instead, the focus is exactly where it belongs — on Colin and on Grace and their development both as individuals and as possible romantic interests — and the other characters adding on when needed. We both thought it would be a good idea to review the three parts of With this Kiss by Eloisa James together.
Italian singer Paola Turci released a cover entitled "Questione di sguardi" on her 2000 album Mi basta il paradiso. She knew it wasn't Lily's fault that Colin fell in love with her despite the fact that Grace was the one who had been writing to him religiously. There is someone out there who would help you bury bodies if he had to and would feel lucky about it, too!
This theme of the supernatural meeting romance was what appealed to me in the first place, but I don’t think it was ever established fully. Now that she’s out in society (however much a wallflower), Grace hopes that Colin will notice her when he comes to London on leave. But where the use of an an inspiration such as a fairy tale often feels trite or contrived, Eloisa manages to build a wonderful book each time. For a short novella, I didn't expect that it would be so heartbreaking to see Collin reached for Lily instead of Grace.
