About this deal

Use MathLink Cubes for a wide variety of maths activities including counting, place value, ordinance, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, grouping, patterning, sorting, comparing, fractions, and more. This is the 3rd set I’ve purchased to add onto the original set we got which has held up against 4 extremely active boys! Includes 100 plastic connecting 2-cm cubes in 10 colors, 5 activity cards, and plastic storage box WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts.

Each cube features five different geometric shapes on five of the sides: circle, square, triangle, pentagon and hexagon. Indents have geometric shapes cut out on four of the six sides: triangle, square, pentagon, hexagon. There is another brand similar that is a softer plastic material that I feel for tactile and sensory reasons may be a better alternative for a little fingers to manipulate. An additional feature is the geometric shape cut outs which do not limit linking ability but can be brought into play for more complex sorting/classification activities. Five of the sides feature a different geometric shape, providing a challenging canvas for construction, art, and math activities. Count and learn with MathLink Cubes in the classroom and at home, and help young children build number sense. Distinguishing marks / features of the original cubes: On stud: the words ‘UNIFIX’ embossed on the top, with a small tiny bump on the other end.

A.5 Understand addition as putting together and adding to, and understand subtraction as taking apart and taking from. Pain factor if you stepped on one bare foot in the night (10 being most painful) : 5 out of 10 Snapping sound / action? Both my son and daughter can play with them for long stretches of time, and we’ve use them to teach all sorts of things, ranging from arithmetic and logic to Chinese and physics.

And when the learning fun is done, MathLink Cubes double as fun building toys that help children build fine motor skills, spatial reasoning, and more through fun play. However, there are lots of things you can do with these cubes, beyond just teaching simple maths or counting them. Basic 100-cube set it comes with the best full-colour illustrated activity book among the three brands. I bought a different set originally but she became so frustrated because they were so difficult to get together so I don’t recommend it. B.3 Understand and apply properties of operations and the relationship between addition and subtraction.
