About this deal
Many of the pre-loaded animations assume Optimus is holding his gun in his right hand and/or that he is holding his axe in his left hand. The toy has no sensors to detect whether those accessories are in place, and the app does not consistently label which animations use accessories. It also does not label the many animations that might damage the toy if attempted while accessories are attached, but transforming converting him or punching the ground would be a bad idea. So don't activate any animations while the accessories are attached unless you're sure you know what will happen. Information provided by Fumihiko Akiyama, incorporated in essay about "Ten popular but incorrect rumors about Japanese Transformers" at TF Archive Produced in collaboration with Japanese space agency JAXA and Toyota, Lunar Cruiser Prime is a roughly MP-10 sized figure that transforms into the as-of-2023 current version of Toyata's "Lunar Cruiser" concept for an enclosed lunar rover, in part to promote TakaraTomy's own unmanned "SORA-Q" rover, slated to deploy on the moon in an August 2023 JAXA mission. Known designers: Aaron Archer (Hasbro), Hironori Kobayashi and Shogo Hasui (TakaraTomy), Don Figueroa (concept artist)
This set, like the one above, was only available in the US through closeout chains like Ross and TJ Maxx in 2015. Power of the Primes "Evolution Rodimus Prime" consists of a Deluxe-sized Hot Rod and a trailer, which can combine with the smaller robot to form the Leader-sized Rodimus Prime. Both robot modes feature exceptional articulation, largely due to the way both robot modes transform. However, neither has a rotating waist for the same reason. This figure features minimal partsforming, with the Rodimus Prime fists being formed by attaching the two halves of the front end of the trailer to Hot Rod's knees.
Transformers Masterpiece MPG-06S Trainbot Kaen ( Raiden ) Box Set
The torso was later reused for fellow die-cast Titan Masters Thunderwing, Ultra Magnus, and Scorponok. Masterpiece Hot Rodimus transforms into his iconic supercar mode, but does not transform into Rodimus Prime like the previous iteration. He is the same size as the other Masterpiece Autobot cars, and because of that he fits in both MP-10 Convoy and MP-22 Ultra Magnus's trailers in altmode. He comes with some of the accessories the MP-9 mold also had, like the guns, the retractable visor and the buzzsaw, but he also comes with a new accessory, a fishing rod that allows you to recreate his first scene in the movie. His chest also includes a Matrix chamber where the MP-10 Matrix can be stored. In addition, the set also comes with a replica of the S.T.A.R.S. supply kit, a S.T.A.R.S. badge, a Transformers Fan Club card, a poster, and a Transformers Mook. This figure was originally conceived by Hasbro to be another character (exactly who is unknown), rather than Optimus Prime, but Takara insisted that the toy be made into Optimus to help it sell well in their markets, as the vehicle mode was no particular draw, given its scarcity in Japan. Reportedly, the figure cost twice as much as other Alternators to construct, so Hasbro had to bow to this demand so Takara would help fund it. Ironically, Takara eventually wound up soliciting the figure not as Prime, but as his Super-God Masterforce lookalike, Ginrai (perhaps connected to the Powermasteresque headsculpt), before its Japanese release was cancelled and moved over into the Kiss Players toyline (see below).
Quite a great surprise to see this rendition of Megatron in Bumblebee movie style. A great sculpt that combines well the classic G1 style but still stylized to go with other Bumblebee movie figures. Glad to see some new designs and not more Optimus or Devastators again. Rodimus comes with a PVC figurine of the Rodimus's "Kiss Player" partner Shaoshao Li and a bamboo dumpling steamer; Shaoshao can just barely fit into his car interior, though she's clearly not "driving". The set also includes a CD with episodes 11 through 20 of the Kiss Players radio drama and the exclusive 10-minute audio adventure, " Tonight's Big Catch!?". Part of the first (and only) wave of larger electronic Hero Mashers Transformers toys, the base Optimus Prime figure in this set is almost identical to the above "Battle Upgrade" toy; this version has a closed right fist that can hold accessories rather than the Battle Upgrade version's finger-pointy one.
Inside his helmet, he has a visor that can be deployed over his eyes as seen in the Lookout Mountain scene, and his right hand can flip to be replaced with the welding torch he used to repair Kup on Quintessa. His enhanced articulation includes opening hands that can grasp his Matrix and "butterfly" shoulder joints that aid him in assuming iconic poses from the film. His original trailer is not included with the set; instead, he comes with a new deluxe-scaled trailer, not available with any other figure, based on the one towed by Prime in Dark of the Moon. The trailer is compatible with both figures, and sports 5mm post-holes that will hold (among many other things) G1 Prime's laser rifle and the MechTech weapon Movie Prime is armed with. This figure was available with a Hot Rod pin and Macrocosmic Seekers booklet directly from e-HOBBY, he was also released in Asian countries outside of Japan without said pin and booklet.
