About this deal

In 2017, TinAudio (now TinHiFi) confidently took over the budget market with the T2. It was an affordable, well-built dual-dynamic earphone that brought to the segment a near-neutral signature which was quite uncommon for 50 USD. Once the word got out, it became a fan favorite and a go to recommendation for many. You can choose to display a red cursor (in the image above at 31.5C) which automatically finds the hottest part in any image. I found this useful: when scanning the Indonesian forest I focused on the cursor which would – invariably I felt – help separate anything with a pulse from the heat clutter of ants nests, fruit and the rest. Tin T2Pro + HIDIZS AP80 - This pairing also works quite well, as AP80 is a mini DAP, with a lot of power behind. I tried to match the price of the DAP with the price of the IEM a bit, as they wouldn't scale much with more expensive and better sources. AP80 does a lot for its money, has navigation buttons, the sound is still fairly wide and holographic, but it is slightly warm, meaning that they gain a bit of oomph in the bass. AP80 is also slightly smooth in the treble, so it cuts some of their bite away, making them a bit more versatile, at the cost of some treble sparkle. These graphics cards are not suited for Windows 3D games. Office and Internet surfing however is possible. Another really cool camera feature is the impressive Aura Light, which provides nine times the illuminated area when compared to a standard flash. It gives you the flexibility to fine-tune the colour temperature, allowing you to create warm or cool lighting tones, and thus elevate your creativity in different lighting conditions. The Aura light has the capability to bestow a gentle, non-glaring ambiance to your portraits, and it also includes options for skin beautification and concealing effects. Slim, Smart, and Speedy: The Phone You Can’t Resist!

Now, the sound, is very wide, holographic even, thing which is impressive from such an entry-level priced IEM. The bass is more neutral, so this won't satisfy a basshead, but it is clear, and it has a good texture / PRaT. The midrange is juicy, well toned, although on the happier side of things, and it is slightly bright, with a good tonality for female voices, and for acoustic music. The treble also works well for acoustic music, being crispy, clear, sparkly, and having a good amount of bite, so those won't be the choice for the smooth-music lover, but the choice for the more energetic listener who likes to get some cymbals with his music. Display: Vivo T2 Pro 5G has a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1300 nits peak brightness. The score is obtained from vivo laboratory based on AnTuTu V10. The test device used is the 8 GB + 256 GB edition of T2 Pro 5G. The data is for reference only. Actual score may vary with different phone storage, OS versions, and test environments. The aesthetics are on the more industrial side, with the metallic build, metallic color, and with the sharp edges combined with curves leading to an industrial and aggressive look, rather than a smoother one.

All in all, it is a worthy upgrade from T2 in terms of balance and clairy, being more of an all-rounder, more versatile, more clear, more detailed, and just a more pleasing overall experience. It’s nice that Tin HiFi include one set of foam earpieces. The soft-edged grey pads are also nice. And the earphones’ metal work and sandblasting are top notch. But that cable. It’s horrible. Comfort and Fit But today, we’ll review a new addition to the T Series: the TinHifi T2 Plus. First, let’s see where it stands in the actual line-up. The T Series

Various connectivity options on the Vivo T2 Pro 256 GB 8 GB include WiFi - Yes, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth - v5.3, and 5G Supported in India, 4G Supported in India, 3G, 2G. Sensors on the mobile include Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, E-compass, Motor, Gyroscope. disclaimer: This sample was provided for the purpose of writing a review, no incentive was given to write a favourable review. All opinions expressed are my own subjective findings. The T2 Pro gets a better cable and a slightly different tuning, more in tune with… professionals in search of a cost-saving IEM. We didn’t receive them yet, but thankfully, we received the T2 Plus, even better! T3 This means that I can have all the parts set up and ready to go any time I need them and all I need to do is attach my phone to the clamp and then plug in the cable and I am off viewing and recording thermal images and video. The Mount & Handle If you don’t want a separate dedicated device and rather than adding a separate thermal camera onto your phone, another excellent option is to actually get a smartphone where the camera is already integrated within the phone. If you got on with the AX-60, you’ll get on with the T2 and T2 Pro. They fit well, hold firmly onto their ear pads, and are large enough and jut out of the ear enough to make removal and insertion easy. Evidently, you’re supposed to be able to wear them with the cable either hanging down or over the ear. Battery life seems comparable but there is a learning curve to using the T2 especially if you are already adept with a monocular. But, from what Brian reports, this is a learning curve worth pursuing.

When they came to me, I had a Massdrop Plus and a Campfire Comet, both substantially more expensive IEMs. The problem was, I don’t typically use closed IEMs very often. They both were legitimately better IEMs than the Tin Audio T2, but the T2 was close enough. And they were 6X and 4X, respectively, cheaper than the higher end ones I already owned. So, I ended up selling them both. This, again, was not due to the T2 being better, it isn’t. Let’s make that clear. It was a value vs performance vs needs proposition, and the T2 did enough for me that allowed me to save money to spend on other hobbies. You can also read the review at Audiophile Heaven: https://audiophile-heaven.blogspot.com/2018/11/Tin-T2-T2Pro-Open-Stage.html By default, the refresh rate is in Smart Switch mode, so it automatically changes according to the scene to reduce power consumption. You can go to the system settings to select 60 Hz/120 Hz/Smart Switch mode. In different apps or game interfaces, the refresh rate may be slightly different. Actual performance shall prevail. The included handle is made from plastic but fixes nicely to the adapter using a standard tripod mounting thread. It is comfortable to hold and really does help with aiming and keeping your phone and thus the image steady and thus I can see myself using it not only for this thermal camera and my phone but also with my standard camera when I am looking for something a little more compact than a tripod. The build quality of T2 is quite good, it is made of metal, and it is very vented, with two vents, making sure that you can't get a driver flex, no matter how hard you try. The bore size is on the larger side though, and you'll need to make sure you have a medium to large sized ear, and ear canal, otherwise it may be a tad too large for you. Once properly driven, the Tin HiFi T2 sounded much more like a proper Chi-Fi IEM. Good extension, tight bass, and clean voices. But too much treble again. It’s a shame as you can clearly hear micro-details, hiding behind those 6-8kHz boosts. Thus using the photography analogy again, pro photographers will still use an SLR camera to get the very best results, but for the average casual user, the camera on most cell phones is certainly sufficient and you can often get surprisingly good results with it. The Bass and mids pretty much match exactly as the T2. What has changed in measurements, is the upper mids and treble/treble extension. The IEM still has a massive drop off in the further audible treble region, but what has changed is a good boost from about 1.5KHz and beyond. This is where vocals and the higher frequency instruments come into play, as well as the extra clarity, detail and air impressions come in. Comfort-wise – they are the same as the T2s, obviously. They can be worn both cable-down and cable up. I prefer to wear them with the cable up and over my ears, but I have been able to get good fit in either orientation.

Features

Tin T2Pro + FiiO M3K - As I said, this one combo hits the sweet spot in many ways, including price. The sound is engaging, vivid, detailed, textury, and they keep their bright and open signature with a wide and holographic soundstage. M3K also has a nice navigation system, is small, affordable, and has good battery life.
