About this deal

I am the mother of a three and a half year old daughter and a four months old baby girl, constantly looking for information on how to be a better mother and show up for them. Also love One Smile, A Chance To Shine, Something Beautiful, Sam and the Lucky Money…could go on;) have a whole section of books on making a difference through kindness in my K classroom!

Because that’s when your child is thrown into a big group with other kids, and herd mentality isn’t always a pretty sight. Another British book I absolutely love on the subject of kindness is “The Smartest Giant in Town”, all about the joy of fulfilling the needs of others over your own. Seuss tale is such a great way to teach kids that kindness is persistent and that any person, or elephant, can stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. The book is about the power of kind words at school and at home, how it is not your fault when people are mean, you are not alone, and it’s okay to ask for help. Full of empathy and huge smiles, this is a lovely engaging book that will make a beautiful gift and put a smile on your face!Inside: Reading these children’s books about kindness will teach your child to be a kind and compassionate person.

It’s got the phrase, “that’s what I would want someone to do for me” at the end of each page, and I love that because kids learn a lit from repetition! The preschool or grade school environment may be their first experience dealing with exclusion and relational aggression. We think seeding the importance of kindness is best done at a young age, although there’s never a bad time to learn! Albert teaches a lesson on kindness, Chloe realizes that she and her friends have been wrong in making fun of new student Maya’s shabby clothes and refusing to play with her. But at Wonderbly HQ we believe kindness is the thread that runs through everyone’s version of Christmas. It is easy to read whilst covering themes explaining about different feelings and emotions for young readers to appreciate and understand.

Ilaria shared that she liked the character of Maisy the best and she liked the pages where Maisy made Cyril a birthday card and Charley gives Cyril a birthday cake. Whether it's sharing a toy or doing good listening – or just a thoughtful gift wrapped with extra care – we think a dozen tiny acts of kindness at Christmas help set the tone for a caring and compassionate year ahead. When teaching kids about the concept of kindness, they’ll learn it much better if you give them real-life, tangible examples of what it means to be kind – which is where these children’s books about kindness shine. This sweet little book uses clear, simple statements — like “When you get in a snit, don’t hit” and “If you have more than you need, share” — to teach children how to treat others. The lessons they teach, complete with very pleasing art work, are a great addition to your home or school library.
